I felt like I had stumbled across a secret when I discovered homeopathy and I’m now determined to tell as many people as possible about its ability to address the root cause of symptoms. I was told my problem was down to ‘stress’ and that I would have to manage it. Homeopathy changed that for me, and I don’t want anyone else to be in that same position who have tried other options without success.
Hi, I’m Laura. I live in Staffordshire, UK with my husband and teenage son. I’m a registered homeopath with the Society of Homeopaths (RSHom).
I came to homeopathy many years ago after finding relief for a chronic health condition when conventional medicine had failed. The result I got from a homeopathic remedy was nothing short of a miracle for me. I had to find out more and one week later I had signed up to a four-year course at the North West College of Homeopathy! I regularly attend the CPD trainings there to keep up to date and to continue to develop my skills and knowledge.
My background is in teaching and I find this really compliments my style as what I consider to be one of the most important aspects of my approach is that I don’t simply help you; I educate you so that you can understand why you are experiencing your symptoms, and I give you tools so that long term you take back responsibility for your own health.
I love how homeopathy is a medicine that has stood the test of time. The ‘mind-body’ connection? ‘Gut health’? These ideas were recognised by homeopaths long before they became fashionable terms. I have great respect for conventional medicine, but I wish that we had an integrated health system where people had a number of options when it comes to their healthcare.
In my spare time, I enjoy going for daily walks. I am privileged to live in an Area of Outstanding National Beauty (AONB) and I like to count fallow deer, foxes and owls amongst my neighbours! I also keep active by practising Pilates. I find it really helps to strengthen and mobilise my back which is particularly important for me as I was born with a curved spine.
Life is all about balance right? So, as well as keeping active, I love to cook! When my son was little, he would hardly eat anything and I found by making meals together, he was much more likely to try something. He is now 17 and we still continue this tradition together although our sweet tooth means that we tend to bake cakes mostly!
My Special Interest
Behavioural Problems in Children
For over 15 years I have worked with children and young people diagnosed with ADHD and Autism. Although these conditions are becoming more common, I have never met two people that manifest their difficulties in the same way. Homeopathy acknowledges this because it is individualised medicine at its best; the remedy must fit the individual person, not the requirements for a diagnosis.
The menopause is a life event and not a disease or disorder. Homeopathy truly is a medicine of transition compared to conventional ‘blanket treatment’. Homeopathic remedies can support and reflect a process, stage by stage as a woman reassess and changes how she lives which many women do during a journey of personal shift such as menopause.
I had a fantastic experience with Laura from the start. She has a calm and professional approach that puts you at ease. Homeopathy has helped to deal with health concerns that typical medication couldn’t and I would recommend it and Laura to everyone.
Having had no success with conventional treatments for eczema it was suggested I visit Laura. From the beginning I felt confident that I had made the right choice. After a VERY detailed consultation, Laura assured me that she would be able to help. Within two days my remedies had arrived with very detailed instructions on how to take them and within a week there was a very definite improvement – the itching had gone and my skin was definitely looking calmer. As this eczema was on my face – you can imagine how extremely grateful I was. I cannot thank Laura enough and have no qualms in recommending her to anyone.
Laura has a warm, professional and friendly approach, she is thorough and very knowledgable. I found her easy to talk to and felt she really listened . I would not hesitate to recommend her service . Thank you Laura.
