Homeopathy Can Support Your Pets Too

I began using homeopathy for my animals long before I realised just how effective it could be for people. Many dogs dislike going to the vet, and often a vet’s focus is on physical conditions rather than the emotional stress our pets can experience. Learning how to care for your animals naturally makes a lot of sense—and homeopathy offers a wealth of possibilities.

Here are my 15 go-to remedies that I regularly use for my dog, Lilly.

Phosphorus 200C

Ideal for pets that are lively, easily startled, and prone to fears. My number one choice for anxiety during fireworks or loud noises. Use in a higher potency only when needed, such as at the first sign of distress.

Calendula 30C

A wonderful remedy for healing after scrapes, scratches, cuts, or wounds. Give twice daily for three to four days.

Hepar Sulph 30C

The homeopathic equivalent of an antiseptic—excellent for infections or sore injuries, and also useful for itchy ears. Administer one dose twice daily.

Apis 200C

Perfect for stings from bees or wasps. Give immediately and repeat every half hour for up to two hours. You may also consider Ledum in these cases.

Staphysagria 30C

Helps deter fleas, mites, and ticks when given once a month (add to drinking water). Also useful after lacerations—give one dose following injury.

Cocculus 30C

For travel sickness. Give one dose an hour before the journey, another just before, and repeat during travel if needed on longer trips.

Nux Vomica 30C

For dogs that scavenge or overeat given the chance. One dose every 12 hours for a total of three doses.

Bryonia 30C

For coughs. Give twice daily for up to four days, stopping sooner if symptoms improve.

Pulsatilla 200C

A remedy for separation anxiety or dogs that dislike being left alone. Give one dose an hour before you go out and another just before leaving.

Ledum 30C

For tick bites, puncture wounds, or arthritis. Give twice daily for three days after the event.

Rhus Tox 30C

One of the leading remedies for arthritis. Give daily and stop when symptoms improve, repeating as needed.

Ruta 30C

Helps with sprains, strains, and ligament injuries. Give twice daily for five days.

Arnica 200C

For bruising and shock. Give one dose as required.

Aconite 1M

The primary remedy for sudden shock or fright. Give a single dose following an accident.

Arsenicum 30C

For diarrhoea, vomiting, infections, viruses, or food poisoning. Give one dose and repeat if needed.

For ongoing behavioural concerns or long-term health issues, I offer a personalised coaching consultation to help address more chronic problems.
