Episode 98: Homeopathy for your Plants and Food Production with Homeopath Shaz
Episode Description:
In this inspiring episode of the Homeopathy 247 Podcast, host Mary Greensmith chats with Homeopath Shaz, who shares her passion for using homeopathy not just for people and pets, but also for plants!
Shaz explains how she grows an incredible amount of fruits and vegetables in her small city garden — all supported by natural remedies.
Meet Shaz: Homeopath, Gardener, and Animal Lover
Shaz lives in the southwest of the UK, where she has transformed her concrete city garden into a lush oasis full of fruits, vegetables, and even grapevines.
Alongside caring for her two Jack Russells, she uses homeopathy daily in her home, garden, and with her animals, showing just how versatile this gentle medicine can be.
Homeopathy for Plants: Where It All Begins
Shaz starts using homeopathy early — when she’s germinating seeds. She soaks seeds in water mixed with remedies like Silica (to strengthen growth) and Thuja (to protect against disease).
This helps her seedlings sprout healthy and strong, even before they reach the soil.
Everyday Remedies for the Garden
Shaz doesn’t use special “plant remedies” — she uses the same remedies she would for people or pets.
By mixing remedies into water, she can spray or soak her plants, offering natural protection without any harmful chemicals.
Some of her favorite remedies include:
- Silica – for seedling strength and structure
- Thuja – to protect against soil-borne diseases
- Coccinella – made from ladybirds, great for managing aphid problems
- Helix Tosta – helps deter snails and slugs
- Sulphur – good for powdery mildew and general plant health
- Calc Carb – for slow-growing or weak plants
- Phosphorus – to boost fruiting plants like tomatoes and peppers
Dealing with Pests and Problems Naturally
Rather than using harsh chemicals, Shaz relies on homeopathy to handle garden pests. Remedies help deter insects like aphids and protect plants from fungal issues.
She shared how careful observation — just like with human health — helps her choose the right remedy for each plant’s specific problem.
A Garden Full of Surprises
Shaz grows everything from tomatoes and cucumbers to kiwi plants and even loofer vines (used to make natural sponges!).
Her enthusiasm for experimenting, saving seeds, and nurturing plants from scratch shows how gardening, like homeopathy, is all about learning and paying close attention to nature.
This conversation highlights how homeopathy offers a beautiful, chemical-free way to support health — whether it’s for people, pets, or plants.
By working in harmony with nature, we can enjoy bountiful gardens, healthier homes, and a stronger connection to the world around us.

Phenomenal, invaluable, Homeopathy 24/7podcasts are certainly worthwhile listening too.
Listening to these podcasts are an investment, in your natural health journey. I had my first experience with a remedy for a very troubling viral disease, the cure was almost instant, the second experience was in India, my Homeopath was Doctor from Germany, who became disillusioned with only allopathic medicine and studied Homeopathy, again within 1 minute time, my symptoms completely melted away. finding the right remedy ensured for me remarkable results. Highly recommend to give these podcasts a serious listen and explore it further.
