Helping a Young Girl Overcome OCD with Homeopathy

Last year, a five-year-old girl named Solbi came to my clinic with her mother. She was struggling with compulsive hand washing to the point that her hands had developed painful cracks. Solbi had a strong fear of dirt and germs and avoided physical contact, such as shaking hands or touching surfaces like door handles or public washrooms. She also had an ongoing fear of robbers breaking into her home.
For her parents, it was a challenging and distressing situation, as they couldn’t understand or manage her repetitive behaviours.
Solbi’s Key Concerns
- Fear of infection
- Disgust towards dirt
- Fear of germs and contamination
- Repeated thoughts urging her to wash her hands
- Skin cracks from excessive washing
- Avoidance of handshakes and touching doorknobs
- Constant need for reassurance due to self-doubt
- Fear of robbers entering the home at night
- Repeatedly checking locks before bedtime
- Discomfort with public toilets
- Ongoing constipation
- Frequent headaches
- Habitual nail biting
Treatment Journey
First Month’s Prescription
- First day: Phosphorus
- Organ support remedies
Response:
Solbi began having daily bowel movements — a big change from previously going only once a week. She also seemed less anxious about robbers and appeared generally happier and more content.
Second Prescription
- Homeopathic detox
- Organ support remedies
- Stramonium
Response:
Marked improvement in her OCD symptoms. Headaches became less frequent, and she completely stopped biting her nails.
Third Prescription
- Homeopathic detox
- Organ support remedies
- Lycopodium
Response:
Solbi no longer noticed when touching doorknobs and was able to use a public toilet without fear. She also began sleeping peacefully at night.
Fourth Prescription
Syph
Response:
Her parents reported that OCD behaviours were no longer a concern. They were thrilled to see such positive changes in such a short period.
